A few of my favorite things

Well, friends, it has been a LONG day. Were I not such a stellar procrastinator, it would not have been such a LONG day, but unfortunately, I put off doing the work for my "Medieval Heroes and Villains" (sounds exciting, huh? Not. Exciting.) class until today... and it's a lot of work.
So for my image of the day, I'm posting a few pictures of the things that keep me sane on days like today.

First, the best lip balm. Ever.

Oh, Edamame. Who would have thought that soybeans with a little kosher salt could make my day?

Red Bull. Up until about a month ago, I thought I hated this stuff. What was I thinking?!? Loving it.

Annnnd because your day wouldn't be complete without seeing this little one...

There you have it. My favorite things and Lucy with Fro-Yo. Your day is complete.

I am not dead.

Hey, all.

Wow, I can't believe I've neglected this for so long. I'm an awful blogger. So sorry. I'm going to start posting now, I promise, because.... 1) It's summer!! and 2) I just got a new camera!!

I am far too excited about both of these happenings.

In effort to be a better blogger, I'm going to try to post an image a day. So let's start with this little gem. Oh, that girl. Love her. Far too much.

Meanwhile, I need a bag for this camera. I really like this one,

but really, get real. I'm not spending $175 on a camera bag, no matter how cute it is. I reserve that price range for really cute handbags not made for cameras (although it looks like one. Can that count??). And/or shoes. I like this one, too,

although I think it's a bit too "camera bag -esque". I am going to Europe in two months (!!!) and would rather not be carrying something around that screams "please mug me, I'm carrying an expensive camera". I'm thinking of just getting a sporty-looking messenger style bag like one of these or these
and storing the camera in there with the rest of my stuff. I just don't want it to get jostled around. Hmm. Any suggestions? Feel free to comment. Just know that I don't want a Vera. I think they're overpriced and not that cute.

Well, that's about all for now. I'll be back tomorrow with another "image of the day"... hopefully.

Slacker Blogger

Yes, I am. Life's gotten a little out of control lately. Give me a little time to recoup, and I'll be back soon. Meanwhile get Gilmore tickets. To as many events as possible. ASAP.

Good-bye, ridiculous Saturn. Hello...

Finally. I can put my hair up without worrying if I will fit in my car. (seriously.)

Things I'm currently into:

Emily Martin AKA theblackapple on etsy. Loving her work, best of all this one, "Little Enid". I also really like "Scarf for two" and "Bess the carnival girl". Good stuff.Coconut sorbetto from Ciao Bella. Best stuff on earth. If you're here in K-zoo, pick some up @ Sawall. In GR, try Art of the Table. Totally worth the $5 a pint. Lemme tell ya, this stuff is heaven. My opening night of Cosi, I definitely I ate a whole pint. By myself. In less than an hour. Dangerous.
(Not into coconut? Try the blood orange. Yum.)
This one is for Justine. Nothing more to say. Oh, and for the record, MacLaren has Kate Spade, Lulu Guinness and Burberry on this season's payroll as well...

Glasses, dresses, and an apology... in reverse order.

It's official. I'm a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad blogger. Cosi pretty much took over my life for a few weeks, and in typical Dorabella style, I lost control, drank far too many lattes and did no homework, returned no emails, and yes, neglected my blog. But hey, you should have seen it coming with that post about going bento for lunch AND dinner. When Russian class ends at 5:40 and you need to be in for hair and make-up at 6...
Plus, I was house-sitting and didn't have an internet connection.

Anyway, done with that preface. I am BACK. And on spring break (I know, disgusting, isn't it? It's so snowy, icy, and gross here. Boo, midwest. Boo.), but not doing anything exciting but grad school hunting (which is kind of exciting, but I think it'll get old fast). And trying to find a dress for the concerto winners performance. Speaking of which, what do you think of this one (the black one, not the blue)??
It looks incredible on-- I love it. I'm just worried about looking to prom-y. Of course, I don't want to look matronly, either. Or pregnant, as empire-waisted styles tend to lend themselves to...
I'm just having the hardest time. I think I need to shop with friends, I'm my own worst enemy when dress shopping. I just can't make decisions.

Also, I'm getting new glasses tomorrow. What about these?
Too "Ugly Betty"? I mean, it's not like I wear them all that often anyway...
And don't try to convince me to go with the wire frames. I did that last year, and I never wear them. I only ever wear these:But I think my eyes are getting worse, and I need a new prescription...
